On April 15th, 2021, the Fairway Wholesale Lending and the American Warrior Initiative team met in Kirkland, Washington and surprised Marine Combat Veteran, Captain Elizabeth Okoreeh-Baah Stephens, with a service dog.
Captain Elizabeth Okoreeh-Baah Stephens is one of the top five female Marines and one of the first women to graduate from the U.S. Naval Academy with a Marine Corps aviation contract. She has been featured on the cover of Leatherneck, a Marine Corps magazine and is the first African American female avatar on the video game, Call of Duty.
Fairway Wholesale Lending is honored to have raised enough money to gift Stephens with a service dog as well as a family grant. Life after 19 years in the military is a difficult journey and can bring on struggles like anxiety and depression. The American Warrior Initiative’s goal is to continue inspiring and educating all Americans on the importance of giving back to the men and women of the United States military.
Thank you to everyone who donated, those who helped in the training, and to everyone who is and who has served our country.
